New patterning targets and software

Was out at one of our local clubs today with a friend who is an insufferable "gadget head". He recently discovered an app and target system that ends the butcher paper on a fence and pellet counting. By far the best analytical method for patterning shotguns I've ever seen. Pick your distance, fire a shot at the proprietary target, photo the target with your cell phone and feed the photo to the app. It counts pellets, calculates % in your chosen diameter circle, shows you distance off center, calculates effective choke, kill probability with various size clays and targets! Unbelievable and instant analysis. Really a neat tool for evaluating chokes, gun fit (cast off/on, etc), etc. Recommend taking a look, here's the website. www.targettelemetrics.com
I was initially skeptical but was impressed after spending some time at the pattern board. He and I have both recently purchased a couple of nice little Italian 410s and shot both with different chokes and ammo today, much food for thought!

I've used this for the past year or more Keith. It's truly great, as I hate patterning more than pulling my own molars. I've had friends say I'm crazy buying the targets but as I say, "You're an idiot for counting pellets one at a time."

I'm with you on the tooth pulling. The targets run about $2 each. After going cross-eyed counting pellets, considering the price of a hunting trip and, even reloading, the cost of ammo, this makes perfect sense to me, I'll pay!
