Winter 2025 Parker Pages

Got my Parker Pages Saturday, November 22. Thanks, Mike and Sam. This is a good one, starting with the Jeff Kuss paper collection on the cover. The "road map" on page 3 was a nice touch. The #19 may be an 1882 catalog, not 1822. Great picture of a great collection. John Davis's article about ATA All Americans was a good one too, since "He are one". What a guy. Mills Morrison's tribute to our friend Charlie Cleveland was on time. His rare 1950 Ford Crown Victoria is a clue to his real interests other than shotguns. Thanks to Mills, we know what Charlie looked like. Was anyone surprised?

Thanks Bill. 👍🏻

Bill, we’ve seen Charlie Cleveland before and have heard from him before.

I published an article of Charlie and his sweet wife Bessie going out to Kansas to share a hunt with another old time PGCA member. I sent it to Village Press, our publisher with all of Charlie’s language and colloquialisms and the layout artist Brandon Hoffman, sent me a final proof before publishing where Brandon had corrected everything with proper English…
I was outraged and let Brandon know that he had transgressed - I wanted it published in Charlie’s own words… Brandon put it back to the way it should have been… the way I wanted it.

That horrible 8 gauge TA cobbled and scabbed up gun of Charlies was in my possession before it was in Mills’ possesion… I never had the desire to fire it…

Mike Franzen also did a very nice article some time back. I think they did some turkey hunting if I recall correctly.

My PP came yesterday , supposed to rain all day, so will read it cover to cover.

I particularly enjoyed the article on Charlie Cleveland. I never met him but it reminds me of a friend I don’t see often enough. Thank you.

It's a very nice issue and Mills did a fantastic job with his tribute to Charlie Cleveland. I always got a chuckle from Charlie's pattern testing which consisted of how many pellets hit an empty Dr. Pepper can at a given range.

Dean and Mike, I didn't mean to imply that I hadn't "seen" Charlie, but I would guess that many of our readers and members had not had a visual of Charlie in the past. Thanks again, Mills, for helping us along. How about that '38 Chevrolet.

Thanks for the kind words. I miss Charlie and am sorry I never met him in person

I forgot to mention the Dr Pepper cans. I actually used some for pattern testing once.

The issue was well done and had a historical bent overall that I am enjoying
