Two Fox Bird Guns

I thought some might like to see what are, for me, a couple of bird getters. These Foxes, made by CSMC, complement each other for a variety of situations.

The top gun, a 20 gauge DE Special, has 26 inch barrels and weighs in at 6 pounds. It is well balanced between the hands and fast, but not whippy -- a great quail gun. It's choked choked well for grouse and woodcock as well.

The bottom gun is a 16 XE with 29 inch tubes. This gun has proven itself on sharptails and Huns, and has also taken Blue Grouse, Roughed Grouse, Woodcock, Snipe, Pheasants, Dove, and a couple of Snipe (and, of course, wild Bobs) during a stretch when it was my go-to gun. I asked Tony to make the gun to weight under 6 pounds if possible. It weighs in at 5 pounds 11 ounces and once you get it swinging, it doesn't stop with those longer barrels and slightly weight forward balance. It's choked cylinder and tight.

WOW very nice pair!!! Very classy. I love my XE 20ga two barrel set. It's been hunted all over the US, Canada and South Am.

Is it safe to assume you took it to South America over ten years ago ?

Yes but next Summer I'm headed to Uruguay and I was told it is possible to bring your own gun.

Craig, I'm sure you'll let us know how that works out. It's sure better than using the camp autoloader.
