How does one remove forend ?

All Knick model Ithaca single barrel trap guns used the Anson & Deeley latch system to my knowledge. Pull up on the latch lever and if the fore arm doesn't pop loose, it may take a little down pressure, meaning pressure away from the barrel. Stan |
If the FE has been in place for some time, it might help to use a 1/2 clothes pin inserted between the front of the FE and the barrel. Gently tap while holding the latch open. It may take 3 hands, or some assistance ;)

All had the "push button" FE release which was not particularly reliable, and the wood could crack around them.
And the Flues models tended to break the cocking arm. Mine has a button [maybe a Flues] and when you push on the button it does it release. Does the FE slide front? |
Yes,
You have a Flues. Like others mentioned, try sliding a tapered object between barrel and for end while pressing the button. For end will go straight down, no forward movement. |
|
You only have a Knick if the serial number is over 400,000.
