Bushed firing pins
I had a firing pin break in my Ugartechea 12, model 30 while shooting clays July 4th. I easily removed the bushing, saw that the pin had broke, but can't figure out how to remove the firing pin from the gun. It moves around but can't get it out-- nor could I remove the pin from the left barrel.
Any suggestions? Cole Haugh in Milan Indiana is the go to guy for Uggies, going to call him tomorrow and hopefully just buy a set of firing pins and replace myself if possible. |
Maybe it is mushroomed on the end of it which is preventing it from being pulled from the frame. ?

Some SLs have small set screws in the bolsters that limit the movement of a FP. I ran into the same problem on an English SL. The small screw was near invisible with the engraving, but when I looked closely, there it was. Carefully removed it and the pin fell out from the receiver.

As Brian suggested , the pins have probably mushroomed, preventing removal. Stock will need to be removed and pins punched out from behind. Sent gun out this morning.
