Cleaning and care

Hello. I am new to vintage guns and I just bought my second Parker in the past two months. I am wondering what everyone does to preserve these beauties? Any particular products you use to clean or care for them?

I currently have all my guns in a safe, in gun socks. All with a small amount of oil on the barrels. My safe is in our finished basement but the humidity can get up there. Plan on using some drying agents and a dehumidifier if it gets bad.

Here's a link to an old thread that will answer most of your questions. You can go to the "Search" section in the tool bar where you can search for more threads, there are probably several. I prefer the advanced search. Good luck !

I'm convinced the worst of the products available is good enough. Use what you like to smell is my latest approach. Hence I use Clenzoil or Balliston.

A golden rod is all you need for humidity control in the safe.

I don’t like the smell but Ballistol is hard to beat.

Ballistol is good stuff but for some reason the smell is not that offensive to me.
