Hello everyone,

This is a follow up to the previous .410 post to discuss the 28 gauge.

I'm hoping to learn more about the 28 gauge and it appears to be a fairly rare piece as well. The serial number is 132485 featuring a 28" barrel, 2 3/4" chamber, double triggers, and a round pistol grip. Thank you for any additional information or insights that might help us better understand its value and history.

I will be attaching some photos for reference.

Thank you!

I checked both serial numbers and there are surviving records for both guns. You should become a member of the association and order a letter for each gun.

Another nice, desirable, gun. This gun is about thirty years older than your .410-bore.
Being of the earlier style 28-gauge it is built on the larger 0-frame (the 0 on the bottom of the barrel lug indicates this) that was a normal frame for 20-gauge guns and lighter 16-gauges. About 1912, 160xxx range, Parker Bros. introduced a smaller 00-frame for 28-gauge guns.

It would be nice to see a picture of the barrel lug to see if it has been updated to the 1910 style bolt and bolt-plate.

Very nice, u are fortunate to inherit such a nice small bore Parker. As u must be aware by now the gun appears solid but has suffered from poor storage over the years, The action appears to have a light rust or tarnish coated surface. This greatly affects it's value. Also, the 28ga gun is made on a 20ga frame, collectors/shooters much prefer the OO (smaller) frame 28s. If you are looking to sell the 410 and 28 I would advise you contact a major dealer or auction. If your looking for a written appraisal I would contact a major dealer. My wild ass guess is the 410 is a 8-10K gun and the 28 is a 9-12K gun.
