Received letter from Chuck today on a gun and can’t figure out what the “tagged C.T. O. “means, thanks in advance. Gun is exactly per the letter.

My best guess is: Configure To Order

Perhaps:
Combined Transport Operator (CTO) is a logistics service provider that specializes in coordinating and managing the transportation of goods using multiple modes of transport.

Given the Stock book specifications, sounds like a dedicated competition gun. So something like John’s “configure to order” seems plausible.

Thanks all, Configured To Order does seem very likely the meaning. Lovely gun that was completely redone by Turnbulls before I became the caretaker.

Beautiful straight grip B Grade with a full checkered forend. It doesn't get much better than that.

You guys are all wet! C.T.O.is someone's enitials. Substitute the words "to the attention of " for the word "tag". Usually the entry would have the guys last name instead of initials.
