Inherited a Parker
5 Attachment(s)
Hey all, this is my first time posting here so I appreciate the help. I inherited a Parker Shotgun from my father- apparently it was his grandfathers. He knew little to nothing about it, so here I am trying to find out what I can. What is this worth? What exactly is titanic steel? Thank you kindly!

From the few photos it appears to be a nice condition DHE, grade three with ejectors and the desirable straight stock, with Titanic barrels (name for the steel but debate is whether they are different than other grades). More photos are needed such as the butt plate, skeleton butt, or pad, the frame size under the barrel lug, length of barrels now. The serilalization book shows 12 gauge, 30" barrels, straight grip, ejector gun. It shows two extras, one being the ejectors and I don't know what the other is. Value is dependent upon condition of the gun, which can't be determined without photos of everything, then get a rating and look at other sites to see what is the asking price and actual sale prices.

What you have is a DHE Grade 3 with ejectors thats what the E is for D= the grade H= hammerless It is in the Parker serialization book Listed with straight stock and 30in Titanic Steel barrels made in 1909.

I’d compare it to things that have actually sold, not just are listed, on gunbroker or similar. Of course, once you know enough info on what you have to compare to. It appears from the limited photos to be a nice condition straight grip DHE. It’s not a trivial value if the rest of the gun holds true. My opinion. |
William,
The photos show the hammers have been dropped and the ejectors fired. Did you get it back together? If not you will have to gently recock the ejector hammers in the forend before it can be reassembled. Use a wooden dowell or a new pencil to gently push them back to cocked, one at a time with the forend held by a soft rag or on a spongy surface as to not damage the wood. |
