Research Letters

just a observation I got my letter today on my first Parker it was in a envelope with no backing when I opened it the letter had all kinds of creases looked like someone set on it, do all letters go out without a piece of cardboard to at least stiffen the envelope?

No they don't... or they shouldn't. They should be suitable for framing or display. Ask Chuck for another with better packaging. He's a nice guy.

Never once had an issue. Slap your mailman.

When I sent out thank-you letters to authors along with the three complimentary copies of issues their contributions were printed in, there was the protection of those three 48-page magazines. Plus the fact that I printed those letters in heavy parchment so the recipient could proudly display them.

Not to take any shots at Chuck, but accidents do happen and rough handling does occur. Would it cost the PGCA anything significant to tuck a stiffener into a 9”x12” envelope?

I’ve ordered a bunch of letters of say more than forty anyway I’ve never had any arrive creased .

Nor have I. And Chuck graciously reprinted all my letters after the tornado destroyed all my originals, and those were all fine, too.

I might add I have the smallest PO Box you can get . The locals cram stuff in my box sometimes but knock on wood as of yet no messed up letters .

Ain't going to happen Dean! After 12 years of doing letters, this is the 3rd time someone has complained about the letter getting crumpled. I'm not going to change for 3 people out of 8K plus letters in 12 years!!!

Whenever Precision has a shot shipping special, I order 2 bags. My mailperson got so pissed off at me, he left the mailbox door open on a snowy day and the plow truck filled the mailbox up with snow, soaking one of my letters. I just pressed it dry with my wife's iron. Now I order shot, whether I need it or not.

Now THAT’S funny, Edgar!
