Small frame, 20 ga, straight stock, ssbp, 26" barrels...perhaps the perfect gun for grouse, woodcock and quail. Probably a reasonable retail price for a highly coveted configuration in what appears to be excellent conditiion. I suspect the gun would be listed in the mid-teens if it were being sold by one of the more prominent dealers.

Jay, You got that right! Intertesting to see a late Remington gun with Meriden barrels.

Spoke to the owner, he said he paid 10K for it a while ago, maybe 4-5yrs from a Parker collector who was dissolving his stuff due to advanced years and he put the start price at what he paid. I told him he wold be lucky to get that today. Sure is purty.

I believe $10K is a very fair starting price for what it is... a very desirable late Parker.

I agree with Jay in every respect. A 28 ga. in that configuration and condition would be starting at $28K

My 1925 DHE 20 bore, 30 inch bbls that I acquired in England I have priced at $17,500 & I ain't budging (In other words I don't care whether it sells or not, 'cause I would just as soon keep it).

Best Regards, George

I should have added that mine has a straight grip, factory chequered butt & a OO frame.

I have a 1923 vintage 20 ga DHE with 30" barrels that I'd sell for $9,750. Maybe I should re-consider and list it for more.

I've seen both "Parker Bros." grip caps and "Meriden, Ct." barrels on late Remington guns often enough to believe it isn't uncommon. I guess it's a matter of what was on hand at the time of the order.

Jay, perhaps you should. They aren't that plentiful.

Best Regards, George

It's interesting that it has two holes drilled, and plugged in the butt. I have a DHE 20 that has this as well. I'm guessing that the factory drilled the holes to remove weight from the butt end.
Here's the link to make it easier to get there:
