Geofrey Gournet
A fellow member just informed me that Geoffroy Gournet passed away unexpectedly. A terrible loss to the community.
apologies for the miss-spelling in the subject line |
That’s terrible!

I really hope this is not true. I have tried to get in touch but no luck right now. hopefully I hear the sound of my french friends voice. Fingers crossed.

That is very SAD news!
I had hoped to do a special gun, maybe one to pass along at some point, Geoffrey was always the engraver I had envisioned would do the work. He had done some repair work on a Grade 7 a few short years ago, was a true gentleman, very nice to deal with! May you rest in peace Geoffrey |
Terrible thing to hear
|
Lets all settle down for just a second and allow things to be corroborated. Edgar may have jumped the gun on putting something like this out there like this.
|
I certainly hope that it isn't true, but it did come from a reputable member. I hope I haven't upset anyone, but thought the membership would want to know
|
I, for one, am hoping it is not true. GEOFFROY is a great friend, even though we never got together on my "project". This would be a great tragedy in our little world. The Allentown Show and the Southern Side by Side will not be the same. So sad.

I just got off the phone with Geoffroy’s wife Virginie. And she confirmed the sad news that Geoffroy did in fact pass this morning. I do not know any details, I did not ask. I just wanted to convey my condolences and let her know that I was here to help out in any way that I could.
This is a very unexpected and significant loss to the community. I have been fortunate to have a great working relationship with him over the last 12 years. |
Very sad news. He was an extremely talented artist and will be missed. Condolences to his family.
