I would expect brother Bill Murphy to chime in on this, he being an aficionado of the Prussian Dalys...

It looks to me like a Merkel made or designed gun that was marketed by Charles Daly
pre WWII.

It is belgian proofed. And looks like a Merkel action.

And the barrel is marked clearly, “made in Belgium”. So this would not be a prussian daly.

Daly imported guns from a number of manufacturers over the years. More recently, Japan and Turkey.

Over under Dalys are not my collecting interest. Nice gun though. Late version Miller trigger.

I believe the date code is 'p' for 1937 but need a close up in focus image
Remove the FE and there may be a maker's mark on the flat.

I have had two or three like the above gun. Several different names on the guns. Some have Falla stamped inside. This gun is similar .

I don't know who made these guns, but some have Francotte names on them. They don't have the character of Francotte side by sides, however. Maybe Francotte made some of them for other names.

There are similar examples of the basic Darne, Charlin, and one-off other sliding breech actioned guns that turn up from time to time that are difficult to identify positively as to original maker(s). I recently passed on a nice 16 ga. Darne-type action gun because there was no definitive maker's mark(s) on it.
