Had the oldest grandson out..
1 Attachment(s)
Today I had our oldest grandson (9 years old) out for skwrl. Finally had a day that wasn’t too cold and windy. He wasn’t using a Parker. He’s still a bit slight of build to use a double gun, so he shot the single shot Savage .410. Copper plated 13/16 oz of 7 1/2 shot. He scored on three skwrls.
It was a good day Tater! |
The grin says it all.

Well played Papaw. Quite certain we'll be seeing that young fella on the Rock Mtn course before long.

pretty work!

How many of us cut our teeth skwrl hunting?? I certainly did.

Nice work Pop. It's still one of my favorite ways to spend time in the woods. Mmmmm.... buttermilk fried skwrl.
How's Grumpy? |
Thanks Daryl. I haven’t seen Grumpy or Grizzly for a while. It’s been really cold for months so they are probably hanging in thermal cover. I haven’t seen Grumpy seen grouse tracks though.

Saw this the other day and thought of you and Grumpy.:)

I’d wager he’ll remember his squirrel hunts with you, Mike, forever. I still remember hunts with my Pop.
