The latest arrival to the Parker SBT Gun Room here in Northern California.................a long awaited SA! This beautiful SA is serial #193687, as completed in April of 1921.
First, I would like to express a heartfelt "THANK YOU" to our very own Research Czar, Mr. Chuck Bishop for his help in assisting with this acquisition. Thank you very much Mr. Bishop!! As Mr. Larter and others have attested, there still are Parkers out there that are waiting to be found!!! I am extremely humbled to be the current custodian of such a wonderful find. Here are the specs on this magnificent Parker Single Barrel Trap. Serial# 193687 Completed April 19, 1921 (and has been in the same family since!) 12 Gauge 34" ACME Steel Barrels (did I mention they are 34"!!) Original Hawkins Pad DAC: 1 5/8" DAH: 2 3/8" LOP: 14 1/4" x 14 1/2" Stock Medallion Initials: "CPW" Weight: 7lbs., 12 ounces This gun walked into the Cabela's Gun Library in Glendale, AZ. The lady that carried the gun in is the original owner's Granddaughter. After all these years none of her family or kin had any interest in the shotgun, so she decided to part with it. Her Grandfather, Mr. Carter Patton Weaver (CPW) was an avid trapshooter, and ordered the gun directly from Parker in 1921. Doesn't look like he ever used it much!! Doubt I could either. The granddaughter mentioned that her Grandfather was originally from Germany, and I can't help but wonder if that is what influenced what I would call the "Schnabel" type checkered grip that he custom ordered. I've never seen another one like it, and I am certain it was done at the factory. More to come on this Parker SA in the future. |
What a find! Congrats! It is a beautiful Parker!

That's absolutely gorgeous. I didn't know that Parker Brothers made a grade 6 SBT. Stunning wood.

Beautiful stock and specialty trap-shooting grip. Reminds me of John Dunkle’s great-grandfather’s 34” AAHE double trap from around the same year with a very special one-of-a-kind grip.

Thank you Tennessee Dave. Yes, the wood is outstanding. I will get a good pic of the forearm as well, it is equally impressive. Parker made 32 (known) Grade 6 (SA) SBT's. I know another gentleman from Georgia often found on this forum has a few of them. They are beautiful!! Thanks, Bobby |
Very nice ! Now ya need an SAA

Bring it for the People’s Choice!! Congratulations.
