1903 DH Repair
I have a 1903 DH in good condition save a couple of minor dings in the barrel and the fact I can't remove the barrels from the frame. Any recommendations for a good Smith that can help me out would be appreciated.

The root cause is almost always dried grease or dirt, so a good service is the final fix.
In the mean time, try dropping both of your hammers. |
Thanks. Mine is a hammerless. Any other suggestions?

I had the same issue with one similiar to yours. I had many suggestions as to the issue and tried them all. Upon a partial disassembly i found the coil springs to be broken, I could crumble them with my fingers. The gun would fire both barrels and eject the empties but I could not remove the barrels from the receiver/frame. The frame and internals are with a smith now.

Just went through this (not dents) and posted about it. I finally found the cause to be needing the small long coil spring in the disconnect pin assembly. I replaced it with a new one and everything worked. Just one thing it can be. Take the assembly lose from the trigger plate and if it is easy to reinstall, it is likely too short or broken. I found four broken pieces inside the hole and the active spring less than an inch long.

Barrel removal
Well Mark, we're all waiting to hear if you were able to remove your barrels after dry firing them? Assuming the chambers were empty, that is.
