2nd Season Doves

Our local duck shooting has been slow so we decided to chase doves for a change of pace. Surprisingly, we shot quick limits of mourning doves. Best second season dove shooting I’ve ever experienced..

The gun is a 16ga Sterlingworth I bought a couple of years ago. It has IC/M chokes and worked very well with 7/8 oz of bismuth 7s.

Congratulations! I sure wish my state would wake up and give us a split season. We see lots of December birds.

Best wishes for you and those that live in your state. Hopefully your game and fish folks will see the light!

We have had a second dove season in California and Arizona for as long as I can recall. It’s always been a fun “extra” during duck and quail seasons. Shooting doves in cooler weather is such a treat.
