Short Barrel Trojan

I have a 26" barrel Trojan. I decided to test the water on selling it.

Everything I know is posted on this link. Anything I am missing on my post including potential value is greatly appreciated. I am also willing to trade if this gun catches somebody's fancy. Thanks in advance-Chris:)

"Missing" is the serial number so potential buyers can confirm what you say about the originality of the 26" barrels and the open chokes. HMMM? "Everything you know" has no ring of truth since you don't mention serial number or how you determined that the barrel length and chokes are original. At least you got your ad posted on this site without protest. Congratulations.

Serial number

Good point about serial #. It's 164647. Other than paying for a factory letter, how can the Gun be verified with a serial #. I want to make sure I represent things accurately. I did not intend to post an ad, just seeking knowledgable opinions. I was thinking about restoring this gun, but that may not be advised based on what I continue to learn.

Chris,

I am at the office and dont have the "Book" (Parker Gun Inentification and Serialization) with me. It list most all Parkers, their grade, extras, stock type, barrel length etc. Someone will look your Parker up for you.

It is my recolection that all Trojan 12 gauge guns came with either 28" or 30" barrels choked modified and full or full and full. You would have something rare indeed if your 26" Trojan proved to be correct.

Kindest, Harry

It started it's life as a 30" trojan....Sorry for the bad news....

Harry I am pretty sure the TPS verifies the existence of 700+ factory original 26" bbl Trojan 12ga. They are not very common. Scott Kittredge has one and it also came with what appears to be a factory Hawkins Pad as well.

Boy you know how to ruin a guys day. :p

Harry Collins 05-12-2011 12:12 PM

Pete,

My mistake. I knew the 20 gauge Trojan was offered with 26" & 28" barrels. Could they have 30" barrels as well?

Harry

Absolutely open chokes would be very unusual, even if the Serialization Book turned out to be in error. Even original 26" guns were choked IC&MOD as catalog items.

Wow,
Thanks for the info. I don't have much in this gun and I always wanted a Parker. The guy I got it from needed money and I wanted to help him out. With that being said, nothing can ruin my day because I helped the previous owner. Is it worth restoring with cut barrels? I sure glad I put this post up, I have learned more in two hours than in the past two weeks.
