Ejectors
 

My 20 gauge DHE has the ejectors turned off , this works great with sporting clays but cost me a shot at several pheasant in South Dakota . Will I need a gunsmith to make them eject or can i do it ? It looks like all the parts are there. Thanks Tracy

Are the two small ejector plunger pins still in the gun? They are the two small pins extending out the front of the receiver.

Yes they are. It’s a two barrel gun and the ejectors work on the other barrel .

Well that's weird. Are the barrels that aren't ejecting added or original to the gun?

Do the barrels that the ejectors work on have their own separate forend?

The original barrels have a beaver tail forend, the added barrels have a splinter forend . They both have ejectors but the original barrel only extract . This is a Remington gun. I was told the second set was added by Remington.

Starting with the basic info, confirm that the gun left Parker with the beavertail fore end. Check the serialization book, or, if you don't have a copy, post the SN and someone here will check. It should say code 11 (large fore end and ejectors)
Second, do the added barrels have a Remington service code number stamped on them. Remington may have altered the trip pins, i.e., maybe shortened them to get the added fore end to fit, and barrels to eject. Chances are, the two fore ends are not interchangeable, but I certainly would have tried that to rule out possibilities.

The Parker letter says 237388 was completed on July 17 1935. According to the Remington IPM card it had a Trap Model forend and a Parker SST. It also says SKEET IN and SKEET OUT . It has a pistol grip stock and a recoil pad . The second barrel has EF3. The second forend did not fit the first barrel . Thanks Tracy

It's beginning to sound like the gun was an original Skeet gun. Picture, man! Pictures. That can be a whole new topic, but for now, I'm suspecting the problem lies with the original fore end. I'm not great with ejector fore end internals, and consider myself lucky none of my guns are acting up. I haven't used him (yet) but I understand from others that Lou Rotelli is pretty good with them.
