serial # 90681??

Good morning gentlemen. I recently acquired a parker CH serial # 90681. Stock has some issues and the Parker buttplate was broken. All numbers match. NOW for the bad part. Some IDIOT cut the barrels to 22 1/8" and did a horrible job. Any ideas as they were Titanic steel 2 frame 3-8 weight originally? It is a straight grip stocked gun. Can't do high priced rebarreling job.

A CH should have had a skeleton steel buttplate or a pad... what was broken?

Try to find a cheap 2-frame VH with good barrels and have them fitted.

No, the buttplate look to be original, stock not cut and screw holes 3" center to center @ 1 3/4"wide at widest and 5 1/2" long. Thanks to all in advance. Jim

Would like some help as to how the gun left the Parker factory and what the book says. Just noticed a 1 on the forend and thinking this indicated a second set of barrels at a later date or something. Thanks, i appreciate all the info I' could get.

Jim, According to the SB your gun 90681 left the factory as a Titanic Grade 4(C) 12 gauge with 28" barrels, straight grip stock(are ya ready for this?) extra barrels!

Dean Romig 05-06-2011 08:35 PM

And, apparently, a hard rubber buttplate.

Thanks to all. Now I'm looking for 28" 2 frame titanic barrels close to that serial # and would love to find the extra set of barrels.

Checkered triggers???

Upon further observation, I noticed that the triggers are checkered in a fine pattern. Was this the norm or an upgrade?? Thanks to all. Jim D.

Upgrade or aftermarket

Jim DiSpagno 05-09-2011 01:35 PM

Bill, the gun doesn't appear to have ever been apart, as all the screws are timed and not buggered.
