ejector hammergun

Did parker make ejectors an option on the later top action hammerguns? Seems like the cocking mechanism would be unique to that action type.

No. They did not.
Years ago I thought about trying to make an ejector hammer gun, and it could be done with the only real hurtle being the trips in the frame to be able to make the ejectors selective. The ejectors need to know somehow that the gun has been fired or not.

It wouldn't be terrible if both ejectors kicked when the gun was opened, like a classic H&R single shot.

Not sure if I would like that if I only fired one barrel.

Thought id ask before a lot of wheel spinning. It appears that the parker ejector system is better suited to the hammerless action for sure. Could possibly be adapted but maybe a different setup (purdey) would be a better starting point to make hammer gun with ejectors. surely its a can of worms.

A 32" barreled 20 ga. ejector hammergun would be way cool! While I'm dreaming ......... choked .015"R and .025"L, weighing 6 lbs. 5 oz., with at least 80 percent remaining case color, balancing 5/8" ahead of the hinge pin, long splinter forend, 14 3/4" LOP, 2 5/8" DAH, and with figured wood that is attractive but not ostentatious.

One wouldn't want to seem a show-off on the dove field.

Stan it does not hurt to dream, makes life fun, Gary

Aaron, Purdey is making hammer ejector guns in 12 and 20ga with tang safeties. They are being sold in cased sets by Griffin & Howe. For those to old to wait, call (973) 398--2670.

I would no way have a Purdey hammer gun with a safety than I would a gun shy setter. What were those crazy Brits thinking? Anyone wanting a great long barrel Purdey hammer pigeon gun to shoot doves should watch the obituaries. Mine will be available when I'm gone. By the way, a proper Parker pigeon gun, hammer or hammerless, does not have ejectors.

I am reminded of the pheasant hunting scene on John Wayne's Mclintock where John Wayne was using a hammer gun that was clearly also an ejector gun.
