Parker Pages

Phil Yearout, I greatly appreciated your article in the recent Parker Pages. My 20 ga. Sterlingworth has the same issues with it’s stock. I’ll be applying the Timberlux (which I have) as soon as I get it back from an unrelated repair. Very nice article. 👍

Jeff have you gotten the slight stock issue on your hammer 8 taken care of ?

Thanks for asking. I spoke with a guy today, but he’s not taking any work for a few months. I’ll get it fixed up.

I have a feeling yours shouldn’t be difficult provided there are no other issues when he removes the locks etc . He may however need to refinish the thing if he repairs cracks the way Patton does , he soaks the wood in lacquer thinner to draw any and all oil out before he tries to glue . Then of course he has to put finish back on .

I'll second the shoutout to Phil Yearout and add to it Garry Gordon's piece, "Notes to Myself." For those of us who hunt over dogs it's a wonderful story that will resonate with all of us, especially if you also keep a journal, are thinking of starting a journal or wonder why the heck anyone would keep a journal.
Thank you Phil and Garry! In fact the entire Parker Pages is a tasty smorgasbord. It must be a ton of work for the writers and editors! We are lucky to have them.

It's definitely a ton of work for our Editors. They are fantastic and we all owe them our gratitude for the job they do.

And for no other reason than the desire to continue and improve this fine publication, begun forty-one years ago. Parker Pages has ALWAYS been a terrific source of “Parker” sharing, whether technical, practical or just for collecting.

Another great editor. I think I have written for all of them and they have all been wonderful. How fortunate we have been.
