Parker Reproductions Specifications

Questions arose about the Repro stock specifications.

If you can't read it, it says 1 3/8" at comb and 2 3/16" at heel for all guns.

See also below" Note: Dimensions may vary slightly as each stock is hand carved."

I know I have a copy of a Repro catalog in my files that states that straight grip guns had 2 3/16"DAH and pistol grip guns had 2 3/8"DAH That is why I started looking for a pistol grip gun. My ideal DAH is 2 1/2"

When I finally found one I liked I bought it and checked the DAH and sure enough its 2 3/8"

Sorry to burst anybody's bubble but I just got home from skeet shooting with my Repro 28 ga. straight grip, double trigger, splinter forend gun and read this thread, so before putting my gun away I put it back together and laid it upside-down on the counter with the barrels flat on the counter and the bead just beyond the edge and I measured the DAH at the rearmost part of the heel just before it contours into the spur of the SKBP and this gun measures exactly 2 3/32"

...and then there was this Repro brochure that has the same 1 3/8" drop at comb, but states 2 3/4" drop at heel.

This same brochure lists the LOP for all gauges at 14 3/8", all other Repro brochures that I have (and I believe I have them all) lists the 12-guns standard LOP at 14 1/8" with the sub gauges standard at 14 3/8" LOP.

Hmm

Could not a person conclude that the variances documented above are within the range of variances resulting from hand carving, as stated in the note?

The second published table showing 2 3/4" drop at "heal" is clearly in error and probably just a typo.

Actual dementions...

I have owned several repros...most pistol grip guns have 2 1/8, 2 3/16, 2 1/4 some will be 2 3/8 most have been 2 3/16 to 2 1/4 I have been shooting the repro's regularly and have gotten use to the 2 3/16 drop...now anything more than 2.5" is aukward and to low fitting. thanks, Kenny Graft SXS ohio

I for one would certainly conclude that the variances documented above are within the range of variances resulting from hand carving, as stated in the note. I have a 20 that has a 14-1/2 plus LOP. Wish I could find a 12ga outlier with an extra long pull.

My 12-ga. Sporting Clays Classic has a 2 5/8" D@H. Maybe it was bent down by a previous owner when he converted it to an oil finish which was OK with me, but then he cut off the skeleton butt and added a Pachmayr SC pad!:banghead: The redeeming factor is it's now a little more practical for recoil absorbtion and with a 14 3/4" LOP fits better.

Good grief, Greg. What a piece of wood.
