8ga wads back in stock at BPI
|
I bought a few bags four or five weeks ago when they started getting them back in stock. I tried to load up some light loads in Remington hulls and had pretty poor performance. They were really loose in the hulls and lgot bloopers on all five I loaded. They were loads that had been tested at around 5500 so I don't know what the problem was. I had always heard that the BPI wads were a little hard to seal.

I don't know about Remington hulls. I developed loads for Winchester hulls and had to reduce the powder charge verses the sp8 wad. Tom Armbrust told me the BPi wads seal better verses sp8, I believe they are also larger in diameter.

I’ve used the black Remingtons with the SP-8’s and the Gualandi wads . But about all I load in the black REM hulls are buckshot or slugs . And of course the REM hulls are roll crimped . I’m not a fan of roll crimping just from the time factor .
