Belgian SxS - what can you tell me..
5 Attachment(s)
You all have been very helpful on a few Parkers - thought I would try my luck with this little gem.
P.V = Leige Proof House - smokeless powder proof for rifles E LG star with the crown =Leige - Definitive black powder proof for breech loading guns, small bore guns and handguns Perron proof mark Is there a specific manufacturer mark /Name? Seems some ambiguity when looking up proof marks - hoping someone can sort it all out. |
The date code is 'k' for 1932
The chambers are 65 mm = 2 1/2" Remove the FE and post a full size image of all the marks just forward of the flats. There may be a maker's mark or initials on the barrels. Is there nothing on the rib? |

Thank you - this confirms what I was thinking on those other codes. Here are the barrels..

If there are no marks/letters further forward then all we can say is that the tubes were by Delcour-Dupont, with (good quality) steel from Cockerill.
It is unlikely that Delcour-Dupont was a primary gun maker https://www.littlegun.be/arme%20belg...upont%20gb.htm Post-1924 "CHOKE" only indicates muzzle constriction > 2 mm or about .008" It appears to be a sideplated boxlock |
Wow, sweet little gun! How about a few more pictures and details

sorry for the delay- kind of lost sight of this thread.
The barrels do not have any markings on the ribs .. barrels are 27 1/2 inches long full gun is 43 3/4 inches long and it weighs just a tick over 6lbs. its so light and small it must be a fun gun to shoot out in the field. It is one of a number of guns my grandfather collected - likely in the 60's through 1980's - he had a number of Parkers - Brownings - etc and a few Belgian doubles .. Quote:

David,
You have a very nice SXS. I really like that it has sling loops- I have found those to be very practical on long walks back to the car. |
That gun looks like a keeper to me. I load nothing but 2 1/2" shells for 16 ga these days.
