Top Lever function

I am curious, one particular Parker I have seems to have the tendency of having the top lever return to the center position when the gun is open unless I push it right until I hear a distinct "click". When I hear that click the lever stays to the right. No other Parker gun I have does this, when the gun will open the lever will stay. What causes this malady that allows me to hear a "click" and only until I hear the click will the lever stay over to the right?

Sounds like a sticky TRIP PIN, (part # 20 in the tech section). You shouldn't hear it snap into place, it should move up smoothly as the locking bolt retracts. Time for a clean and lube.

I must not be reading this correctly. If the lever is pushed to the right to open the gun, it should stay over under the barrels are closed. The click is the trip going in to the recess isn't it? Maybe I need to sleep. Jerry

None of my other Parker's make a click when the lever hits a point where the lever will stay to the right. On this gun the lever can be pushed right allowing the gun to open, however, if I don't go far enough to the right to the point where it "clicks" the lever will return to the center position and then the gun can't be closed until I move the lever right again.

In a nutshell none of my other Parkers will the lever return to center if the gun can be opened.
