That was unbelievable! I once did free climbing (without rope) and though the fall would have killed me it was never on something anywhere near the Eiger. I was taken with his equipment. He used his picks on places we would use our hands and set anchors and belays etc. Our picks were so different and heavier than his. I was also taken by his stamina. Like running a marathon.

I would do anything when I was 155 lbs and bullet proof. At 220 lbs I don't like going on the roof.

I hear that, a six foot step ladder is enough for me. Sold all my ice climbing gear a few years ago.

I gave all my chocks, carabiners, etc to two nephews who were into it years ago. I think one still climbs.
