Ammo question

Wondered if anyone has shot the Fiocchi target loads? I went to Scheels and they had them for $89.90 a flat. I ended up grabbing the last flat of Federals on the shelf for the same price just because they're what I've been shooting but almost grabbed the Fiocchis.

I shot 2 flats of there 12ga 7/8oz 7 1/2 . I liked them.

I shot about one case seemed very good

I have shot many flats of their "Shooting Dynamics" light target loads in 12 ga., mostly 7/8 oz. and I really like them. Soft recoil, pattern well, LOW NOISE!, more than adequate for most clay target games. A little slow for bunker, but much more economical than the 1290/1320 fps stuff in the higher priced brands.

I thought these were 1oz @ 1145fps; not sure; need to have another look. Just gonna run them through my SBT's and price is a consideration more than specs as long as they're within reason.

Phil, I would venture to guess they are either 1 1/8oz 1145 or 1oz 1180. Either would be great for 16 yard singles.

Phil Yearout 04-05-2024 09:11 PM

John, do you shoot a stiffer load for handicap? I just use the same load for both.

John Davis 04-06-2024 06:04 AM

Phil, I step up to 1200 fps, no. 7 1/2’s (light handicap load) in handicap. Just a little added confidence.

I've probably shot 10,000 of then (Fiocchi) and my shooting partner does not reload and he shoots 10-12,000 per year. They are a great shell for the price as Rio Salado Sportsman's Club bought them by he semi load and sold them for $ 74.00 per flat for 5 years. I prefer the 7/8 oz 1200 for sporting clays. They now sell them for $ 11.00 per box.

I shoot them like I eat meatballs. Frequently and a lot. Mostly I shoot 1250fps in #8 1oz, but have a dozen flats of #8 in 1145 or something like that too. I shoot the 1250's in my Vulcan barrels all the time. Keep in mind the Shooting Dynamics in 1250 #8 is the same load as the Little Rhino except the Little Rhino is higher antimony shot and better quality hull. At least I read about one of these Master sporting shooters trains with the Shooting Dynamics then switches to the Little Rhino's for competition with little difference in pattern/recoil...etc.
