New member needs a little help
Hello to all. This is my first post, so excuse me if I'm posting in the wrong place.
I recently acquired a GH receiver. The receiver is complete and the serial # is 226065. Can anyone tell me if this # is in the book? I have no idea what frame size this is. I would like to take on a project and would be interested in knowing how the gun left the factory. Thanks to all for any help. |
It was a GHE (E for ejectors) with Parker Special Steel barrels 28" long, capped pistol grip twelve gauge.

If you measure center to center between the firing pins, we can tell you the frame size.
|
It measures 1.125" from center to center of firing pins. I have a #2 frame 12 gauge but the barrels are too large. Should I assume it is a 1 1/2 frame?
|
Pretty likely a 1 1/2 frame. Parker had stopped making a twelve gauge on a 1 frame by then (226XXX = 1928).

You guys are awesome. Thanks for the help. Is there a good place to look for a complete ejector front end or this going to be like looking for a needle in a haystack?
|
It will be a long search and will require diligence on your part but it can be and has been done. Good luck.

Rebuild
Larry DelGrego can build you a forend, wood ,metal and about anything else you need to complete the gun...

I gave DelGrego a call today. I asked about costs. It sounds that the costs might be far from ever being recouped. The receiver is in very nice condition so I hate to scrap the project. It appears that it will definitely be a long and slow one unless I luck into finding the front part of the gun.
