14 gauge Parker
Hello
My friends dad passed away and in his collestion is a 14 Gage Parker. It has laminated barrels and is in pretty good shape. The bluing is worn and the stock has a piece missing by the bottom of the but plate. I am having a hard time getting any info and possible worth. The serial number is 620 Thanks Peter |
So SN 620 would mean that the gun was made in 1869 or 1870 and is one of the earliest Parkers known and would be extremely rare, particularly if in "pretty good shape". Also, since 14 gauge guns are first known in 1882, that makes this gun doubly rare. This would have to be a back action, underlifter, external hammer gun.
Maybe post photos and the measurements by which it is determined that this is a 14ga? |
Bruce I will post some images later. When I first saw the gun they had a partial box of shells with it. They dropped right in!

Hi Peter,
Please post some photos. Sounds like a very early gun! Best regards, Jeff |

Peter, This gun looks to be in very nice condition. Also this Parker looks to be the deluxe grade with a small amount of embellishment and checkering. Do you have any photos of the shells that accompanied the gun?
|
I hope to bring the gun home tue night to take photos and should have the shells also.. Stay tuned
Thanks |
Very nice example! Looking forward to more pictures, in fact if/when you have some more I would like to place some in the Grades Page if you don't mind?
