Connecticut Valley Brewing Corp

OK, it's not Friday, so shoot me (preferably with a Parker)
Found this in a local antique shop today. Connecticut Valley Brewing Corp was in business from 1933 to 1935. They were located about a mile from Cherry Street, and may account for some of the anomalies found on the last of the Meriden Parkers, such as Flying Turnips. |
The closing of the Gun Works, and the Brewery in the same year may just be coincidence, but it does beg the question of slumping beer sales after the move to Illion.
|
A startup brewery so soon after repeal in 1933 was destined to fail. Why? Because they were in competition with the hundreds of breweries that stayed in business during the Great Experiment.
