New PGCA Website Home Page Picture

Thanks so very much John for featuring our dear late Friend and PGCA Invincible Life Member Allan Swanson. That’s a man who truly deserved the title of Invincible Life Member!

So appropriate. Thanks, John D.

Hi Dean and Garry,

Thanks for that, and as you probably guessed, Allan was a wonderful friend - and we'd often chat on the phone to discuss "PGCA Stuff", the website and other things... To be frank, Allan is one of the reasons I'm still doing this thing? So - you can either "Thank him for that", or curse him depending on your opinion as to how this community is run.... But...

The real credit goes to Jean and Mary, who supplied the picture. I called Mary this afternoon as I was doing the coding for the opening page - and when it was done, I asked her to "refresh her browser" on that page.... You see.....

Mary took her position at the PGCA at the request of Allan, as they've been darn near life-long friends. And for that - I guess both Mary and Allan are why I'm still here...

Happy New Year to all - and it's fitting that Allan's image is on the PGCA Website... Mary and I know he'd be danged pleased, as the image is what Allan was always about - good friends, good Parkers and good dogs....

John, I was fortunate enough to hear Allan at our last banquet. He glowed when talking about Mary and you. As a relative new member, I found his praise to be revealing about the folks who support our Association. A good man, Allan was impressive to me in his sincere regard for you and Mary. I echo his praise.

Thanks John. A very nice tribute to a very deserving man. I'm quite sure there will be more to follow. Thanks again.

Wonder what gauge and model of Parker he is holding? I never knew Mr. Swanson personally but he was one of the first to call and welcome me as a new member of the Parker Collectors Association a few years back. We probably talked over an hour and he ask what Parker guns that I was in search of. I was also amazed that he told me that he owned over 250 Parkers but had sold about all of them. He is one of the gentleman of the PGCA that I would have liked to personally met. Rest in peace-Sir.

That really is a great picture. It captured his essence.
