Banner Day!
Found 3 nice coveys of quail today. Found some in some more open cover and went 3 for 5--3 is the limit. Willie, my tricolor, runs big but is solid as a rock on point. She hit a point 200 yds away from me today but wouldnt budge until I got there and flushed the covey. Old Fancy, 13 yrs old also pointing and shot a single over her. Willie has never wanted to retrieve, but she brought me 2 birds today. Later put Doodle out and she found a nice covey, but didnt shoot as I had already limited out and had swapped the 9s for 6s, hoping for a pheasant flush. The gun is my VHE 20. Guess what I'll be doing tomorrow?

Nice! Where were you?

Wild bird? That is great.

Great looking dogs!

Not true wild birds, we're put out in the summer. They are very healthy, fly, and flush hard. They seem to be making it, hope there might be a few hatches this spring. Found 6 different coveys so far
