Here is one a few years earlier. 26 lpi.
The cheeks are not usually checkered on a C. You can choose to not duplicate the crack on yours. |
Thank-you Mr.Day,you and other's here have been of great help...I hope the work meet's everyone's approval when complete.

Bruce, I hope you (or a Buddy) has, by now, sent that Parker to Mr. Trevallion.

The crack is fixed internally but not cosmetically.
This gun was a long term project gun for Austin and has been for me also. Locking bolt issues, off face, those have been fixed, but its still not perfect. This gun is a light damascus 10 and a heavy Bernard 12 CH. It had been abused. Lots of collectors have one like that; you just don't want more than one. |

Guy's do the checkering meet to a point or wrap around the top of the grip ?
|
Chris, I have found that it depends largely on who did the checkering and during which period - not necessarily Parker Bros/Remington but a range of years and the preference of whomever might have been the person making such decisions. Most CH checkering however, wrapped around the wrist in one form or another.

Thank-you sir, that's enough to get me started
