The new issue of The Double Gun Journal arrived today. What a great article by Art Wheaton on an honest working gun. Thanks for your fine article Art, and your years of service to the PGCA.

Yup, I just got it today in MD. Comments to follow. I am fooling with Art's great article as we speak but dinner beckons.

I'm mostly through mine - it arrived Thursday.

Art did a fine job on his story and it kinda makes me wish he was my Dad.... but of course he's not old enough. Nice work Art!

Damned fine article. I was gonna write to Art through the DGJ, but I'll just say it here. Really enjoyed it, and I love reading about honest working guns!

Take a look at page 118. The patented W. & C. Scott "Gas Check System" is reported to appear on other guns bearing British names and the Grade-6 Parker pictured below (not the gun in the DGJ article) is the only Parker I've ever seen with this feature. This Parker was owned by a very well-connected shooter of the day and quite possibly may have visited England and had this done there as there is no mention in the PGCA Research Letter of this modification.
