New Double Gun Journal

The new issue of The Double Gun Journal arrived today. What a great article by Art Wheaton on an honest working gun. Thanks for your fine article Art, and your years of service to the PGCA.

Yup, I just got it today in MD. Comments to follow. I am fooling with Art's great article as we speak but dinner beckons.

I'm mostly through mine - it arrived Thursday.

Art did a fine job on his story and it kinda makes me wish he was my Dad.... but of course he's not old enough. Nice work Art!

Damned fine article. I was gonna write to Art through the DGJ, but I'll just say it here. Really enjoyed it, and I love reading about honest working guns!

Take a look at page 118. The patented W. & C. Scott "Gas Check System" is reported to appear on other guns bearing British names and the Grade-6 Parker pictured below (not the gun in the DGJ article) is the only Parker I've ever seen with this feature. This Parker was owned by a very well-connected shooter of the day and quite possibly may have visited England and had this done there as there is no mention in the PGCA Research Letter of this modification. Picture taken on April 5, 2011.
