Did you ask what gun they had or if it was for sale?

Harold Lee Pickens 08-07-2023 07:03 AM

Said he hadnt had a 28 in years, was an Rem 1100.

charlie cleveland 08-07-2023 09:15 AM

you sure lucked up on that yard sale...even a 28 ga 1100 rem. would be ok with me...happy shooting....charlie

I got a Rem 1100 in my sights right now.As new in the box.
That was a great find in todays ammo market.

Harold, yard sales where you live seem to be much better than where I live, congrats.

Wes Stueber 08-13-2023 08:17 PM

You did well, Harold! Is that one old box of Rem., paper hulls, by any chance?

Harold Lee Pickens 08-14-2023 07:12 AM

no, they are plastic hulls. I do have about 20 Winchester 28 ga paper shells(unfired), DONT KNOW IF THEY ARE WORTH ANYTHING or just shoot them.

Wes Stueber 08-14-2023 10:46 AM

I too, have several boxes of the old Win. paper 28 gauge shells, Harold. I picked them up @ a Lake of the Ozarks gun show back in the 70's, and still have them..! I can't bear myself to shoot them.

I do remember the smell of the Federal paper hulls I first used to begin reloading on an old Lee set. Nothing like that odor...

Thanks!
