Howdy Everyone,
Just purchased my first Parker Bros. shotgun today. It has 30" damascus barrels and exposed hammers and the lift lever on the underside.
It looks all original and needs to be cleaned and lubed. S/N 11922.
Looks to be a G grade. It has some engraving on the hammers, screw heads and receiver perimeters. I will post some photos soon.

Hello Jeff, Get those pictures on! Like everybody says get good screwdrivers that fit before you touch the screws. What guage and frame size. I love the ol lifters. My first was a Lifter also. It,s at the doc. right now. Bet you can't eat just one. good day ch

Welcome aboard. You are a lucky man to haved a lifter Parker. Mike Franzen and I shot ours at sporting clays last week. His is Damascus and mine Twist barrels. We both wonder why on earth Parker abandoned the "lifter". Can't wait to see your pictures. You have a great Parker gunsmith in Bend, OR named Keith Kercher.

Youy Parker is not a G grade but a higher grade gun with very nice damascus barrels. David

That would be a dollar grade gun. No? Like to see side plates and floor plate.

Fishtail there is a photo of the bottom plate on the hammer guns thread.
I just found out more history on the shotgun. The original owners name and
where the shotgun spent most of its one hundred and thirty three years!
I'm also looking forward to ordering the factory info, letter.
Once I get her cleaned up a bit I will shoot better photos and put together a bio
and post it. Fun, fun, fun!!!!

I respectfully disagree David. There is no sculpting on the sides of the fences which began with the D or Grade 3 guns. During the era of the keyed forend even some guns in grades lower than G or Grade 2 are known to have Damascus barrels rather than variations of Twist.

I know of at least a couple of D1 grades (Damascus Grade 1) in the 40,000 range as Dean mentions. I shot one in the hammer gun event two years ago at the Challenge. I also saw one offered on the internet about a year ago. They are beyond the keyed forend era. Both that I have seen have the large Damascus pattern as on Jeff's gun. The Parker Story says there are 18 Grade 1 Damascus lifters and 242 Grade 1 Damascus top action hammer guns. Also, Jeff's new lifter is beyond the "dollar grade" era, according to the Serialization Book. Looks like a 2 or one of the 18 1s, more likely a 2, a G like Jeff says. It has no grade stamp on the water table, Jeff?
