Frame size question

What is the physical difference between a zero frame and a 1 frame.
My 16 vh is a 1 frame. Just wondering

Dean Romig 04-11-2023 07:40 AM

The measurements for all frame sizes are shown in the front of the Serialization book and these were taken from TPS.

I see that the 3 frame size is for 10 ga onlybut we know there are 12 ga s in 3 frame...did they just for get to add the 12 ga to this frame size...charlie

I think those are just their standards but just about anything within reason could be ordered.

We once listed the additions to the frame size/gauge list. There were a bunch of them.

Just to keep us on our toes, there is always the Quality VH 12-gauge on a 6-frame that Jack Puglisi had years ago --

Wish I'd have recorded the serial number when I handled it at the old Riviera.

'For Every Rule, There Is An Exception'. #6999 comes to mind; a 20 ga lifter with firing pin spacing corresponding to what would become the 00 Frame.

that 6 frame 12 ga is a beauty I would love to shoot that gun...I wonder where that gun is now....charlie

12g on a 6 frame had to be for long range duck shooting.
