Interesting For-end Tip:
2 Attachment(s)
I noticed the for-end tip on my 1880 10 gauge Lifter wasn’t like any of my other Parkers. The raised bead tip extends around to the inside face of the for-end and is relieved for the barrel channel. This design was probably short lived due to labor savings. However, I like the design, it seems to have held up well for the last 143 years.

That tip was common for that period

Yes, and of the wedge tips would be fitted like that. They were used on all of the keyed forends and for a short time into the patent latch period. Yours is a later example as it has the patent latch.
