Hoping someone could explain the markings on this G grade. The serial number is in the 190,000 range.

Does the top rib read Parker Steel?

I wanted to know what the PS and the HT over the A meant
And the 55 means I tried to post the photo of the top rib but could not load it Says “Parker Bros Makers Meriden CT USA Spec. steel” |
The marking is "Parker Spec Steel", not Parker Steel. The PS means Parker Special.

No Parker barrel flats are stamped with a letter indicating the word “Steel” - Not Damascus Steel, Bernard Steel, Twist Steel, Vulcan Steel, Parker Steel, Parker Special Steel, Titanic Steel, Acme Steel, Peerless Steel, Whitworth Steel…

There are several guesses as to the HT over A -- Heat Treated Annealed -- High Tensile Alloy -- etc. I have no idea what the 55 means, but I have a gun with a 153 in that area, and have recorded several guns with a one-, two- or three-digit number in that area.
