sticky barrel release
 

I recently purchased a parker Vh from my ex-wifes aunt estate. It,s definitely a shooter only as the stock and fore end are not original. All metal parts are vh with matching serial numbers and the barrels ring true. The only problem is that every so often when trying to break the gun the release lever sticks and the gun is hard to break the barrels . Any solutions? Thank you.

You using Win AA hulls?

The lever sticks when in the closed position or sticks when it is all the way to the right?

Try using a different manufacturer's shells. Some like the AA's mentioned by Friend Flanders can cause this problem. The shell heads' rim sizes aren't all the same.

Take it to a competent gunsmith and have it stripped and cleaned. It may be gummed up
