Michigan Trip 1 Attachment(s) Three generations grouse hunting in Michigan in the snow. What a memory! |
|
Looks like that youngin' is shooting a Fox 20--nice choice. What part of Michigan are you hunting? I am leaving on Thursday for the UP. I hate those first wet snows of autumn, the brush hanging heavy with wet snow soaks you clear thru, the good thing is that it usually is gone soon. My son(33) got to come up last year for his first trip. Weather was perfect and he was able to take a half dozen grouse that week over the dogs. Wanted him to come up this year , but he has to be in a wedding in Ashville, NC--nedds to get his priorities straight. |

Glad you all got to hunt together. If you hadn't captioned your photo, it would have been easy to guess as there is a distinct family resemblance. I'll bet your father is proud to be along, too. Enjoy every moment. |

3 Attachment(s) We are in the UP. I am the old guy in the pic. Harold you are correct on my grandson’s Fox. He got a shot yesterday but failed to connect. Seems we all miss 90% more than connect. I actually shot my first grouse over a dog pointing yesterday. Ricky our pointer found the bird. |

That is something I want to do |

Geez Dave, SNOW!!!! We'll be up in the U.P. Thursday-Friday timeframe this week. I heard good reports on bird numbers and plenty of woodcock. I hope that ugly white stuff doesn't push those mudbat on South. Hope your family has a great hunt. Enjoy. |

I bumped my first woodcock out of the corn field yesterday while picking. So some are down to northern Indiana. |

That would be great if they were still in huntable numbers there |
