Trojan Frame Sizes One More Tine
I just noticed the Puglisi ad for 12-gauge Twist barrel Trojan 173901, the lowest serial number mentioned in The Parker Story, page 246. There was no mention of its frame size in TPS, but the ad states 1-frame?

Interesting Dave. I wonder if a letter would support the 12 gauge 1-frame Twist barrels or a set of 16 gauge 1-frame Trojan Steel barrels.

The Parker Story says the guns is listed in the Stock Books with a Quality code of "PTX." Forty-one are 12-gauge, 23 with 30-inch barrels & 18 with 28-inch barrels. Two of the forty-one had surfaced at the time TPS was written, this gun Puglisi has 173901 and 173980. Also, seven are in the stock books listed as 10-gauge, four with 30-inch & three 32-inch.

The frame sizes were pretty much what the leftover Twist barrels were. If Twist barrels were #1 frame size, a 16 gauge #1 Trojan frame was used. If Twist barrels were #2 frame size either 12 gauge or 10 gauge, a 12 gauge #2 Trojan frame was used.

Yes, there was a batch of them made up like that. 1 frame twist trojans. As I recall, one of our members had one of them. Was it Jim Hall?

Yes. 1 frame twist. You fit a pair of 1 frame 16s to it.also.

luckey you....2 guns in one always interested me....will a 2 frame 10 hammerless be able to wear 2 frame 12 ga barrels...and then would 2 frame 16 and 20 ga fit the 2 frame 10 ga....just wondering......charlie

It would be close. Firing pins would line up. Where are you planning to get a set of #2 frame 16 or 20 gauge barrels?
|
nope was just wondering if they would fit...nay look for some 2 frame 12 ga barrels to fit my d grade 10 ga 2 frame my 10 ga barrels have been cut to 26 inch and are pitted very bad...I have shot it with low power loads..just some wishful thinking.....charlie

One of my 1/2 frame 12 gauge guns are fitted with a set of 16 gauge barrels and fit pretty well. This DHE 1/2 frame gun was purchased without barrels and later fitted with a set of 12 and 16 gauge barrels from my junk pile. It is a real stunner with a stock smaller than any 28 or .410 stock I have ever seen.
