Are there any members in or around the Bryan/College Station area with a FFL or C&R that could receive a Parker for me ?

To clarify my original post...

There are a couple of gun shops I have used in the past that insist on putting the gun together when they unpack it even after me asking them not to and they handed me the gun without the forend on because they tried but couldn't get it on but luckily they didn't break it.

My 3 day inspection period nearly ran out last time before they would let me pick up the gun.

I'm just hoping to find someone that has knowledge of vintage guns and can handle the transfer for me without all the stress.

Whenever I ship or receive a gun, Parker or otherwise I always do it through a business with a FFL. Never been a problem at all.

I don't know what your town is like, Karl, but it sounds a bit like the small town we live near and to which I have guns sent. I had a pawn shop FFL that "researched" the gun so that they could tell me how much I paid for it (and all of the folks in the pawn shop when I came to pick it up). Dealers in my experience never include the cost with the gun, and I always ask them not to. I've had some FFLs unpack the gun "for me" and while they do need to get the serial number, I'm like you and want to be in charge of the gun to unpack and examine it.

So, I hope this means you are about to get the gun of your search. I hope so. Those pheasants will need tending this Fall and a new gun would do it just right.:)

Never let an FFL open your package unless you are present. Only about one out of twenty FFLs know how to assemble or disassemble a Parker or a Model 21 much less a Winchester pump gun without putting a gouge in the metal.

I would think that nearly any ffl is going to open a package the day it comes in so that they can book the gun in promptly, the day it is received as they are supposed to do by law. This means getting the serial number off the gun and getting the copy of paperwork that would be in the box.
