pellet guns

I have 2 break open barrel pellet guns one is a 22 cal. rated at 1000 fps and a 177 sal. rated at 1300 fps...I shot these guns for about 2 hrs... really gave my arms a work out...the 177 is a little easer to cock than the 22...so I tend to shoot the 177 more...the 177 will shoot thru a 5 gal. plasti bucket both sides at30 steps...its a cheap way to spend a evening shooting...charlie

I have a Ruger air rifle or pellet gun in .22 cal. I've got a scope on it and I've got it all tuned and zeroed to make 30-50 ft. head shots on the varmints that are chewing up my bird feeders.

I’ve got one friend that does air rifle matches and he shoots several classes . He has them up to 25 caliber I believe he said . Another guy that hangs around the shop bought his grandson a 35 cal air rifle . If I’m not mistaken the boy plunked a deer with it two years ago .

About thirty years ago I ran across a Quackenbush circa 1890-1900 air rifle . I bought it and gave it to my pop for Xmas that year , think I paid $100 . Ive been liquidating some stuff and sold that air rifle last year think I got about $400 for it if memory serves .

Charlie I love my air rifles and pistols. Last year I bought 2 PCP rifles, portable bottle and compressor.
These rifles are suppressed and are unbelievably quite.
It was way too hot last summer so I came up with a set up to shoot at night.
With a heavy metal bullet trap, a portable rechargeable light, I can open the doors from my office at night with the A/C running and practice in the dark. The loudest noise is the pellet hitting the trap.
I enjoy shooting my pumps and Break barrel rifles but you are right it flat wears you out.

Interesting.... Quackenbush is my mother's family name and yea, we are distant relatives to the gentleman who invented that gun.

If I’m not mistaken there’s still a Quackenbush air rifle company in TX think it is . They build kinda a semi custom deal .

Heck of a coincidence this thread started and two days ago my brother in law was after my wife to have me bring a I think it’s called cpc air rifle to him in the Philippines . I’ve always been sort of intrested in the big bore 35 cal and up . So naturally I started looking around
