For those that shoot RST shotshells
2 Attachment(s)
The below came from a post on Facebook. Back in 2017 the poster asked RST what were the pressures of some of their shells and RST e-mailed the below charts:

I made a copy of that a few yrs ago and put that in my reloading notebook. Good reference when working up new loads. Very useful.

Thanks for sharing...that is a great resources! I had written down a handful that I had asked about over the years. I just saved these 2 pictures and hope to refer to them soon when we are all able to order a few cases again...

Has anyone who has talked to RST have an idea as to what wad and powder they use in the 12 and 16 Lites and Ultralites?

The RST 12 gauge Paper Trap Shell is the best handicap load out there, bar none.

I always shot Polywad's shells in my 2 1/2" chambered doubles, until they closed the business. Last year I bought a buddy's stash of 20 ga. 2 1/2" loads, mostly RSTs with a few boxes of Griffin and Howe and Bismuth non-tox loads in the stash. I shot doves with the RST 20 ga. 3/4 oz. Lites one afternoon last season. I was very impressed with how they killed, and the distances at which they did so.
P.S. Thanks for posting that chart, Greg. |
I would take this with a grain of salt. What they loaded with in 2017 may not be what they load with today if they had components. this is why pressure is not printed on the box. They will be appropriate but things change with the availability of components.
