The New Days
Isn't it great the number of avenues we have now for searching down these fine classic guns? What a great benefit the internet is to those of us who appreciate those artisans that crafted Parker guns. With the click of a few keys we can do research, we can compare pricing, we can access photos and find all sorts of interesting facts and figures. We can peruse the offerings of a number of dealers, we have available inventories of various auction houses and we can even bid on guns online from the convenience of our favorite chair at home.
And we have a wealth of knowledge that we can access by being members of fine organizations such as the PGCA! Give me the new days! |

If you want to keep it that way you have to vote in the right people in the government.

I agree with Reggie that todays gun market allows buyers to shop and authenticate guns much better now than in the "old days". One thing not mentioned in the old days thread was that there were many more faked or upgraded guns on the market. Since there were not many ways to authenticate guns at that time, buyers had to depend on the dealer and their own knowledge. One of the first things I learned in this business is "if they can make it,they can fake it."

Couple years ago at an "Outdoor Show" in NE PA I came across a guy with a table of old shotguns for sale. Right away I notice one was a sort of strange lookin' Parker. A 20 gauge VH, it had a blued action, non standard replacement stock, etc, etc, you get the picture. "Just how much do you want for this gun?" "$9995, just like the tag says". " Really?" "Yes" I moved on, nothing to see here. |
The pictures available on the various for sale sites have afforded me the opportunity to study the barrel flat markings of more guns than I would ever see in person.
