I’m not really into paintings or art, but this one just makes me stop and stare, I personally am not a setter guy currently, I have 2 Brittany Spaniels and love them. I know many of you guys love Setters, so I thought this might be enjoyed. I just enjoy this one, no matter the dog,

Nice ! The gun to me kinda looks like a Winchester Model 24 !

You may be correct Craig,
I was trying to compare since I'm not real familiar with that model, but it does favor that model. Stan |
Thanks for posting Stan, Ive not seen that one before.

Those two-piece shotgun shell boxes are from long before the Winchester Model 24 came out. "Bird Scents" was used in the 1931 Western Cartridge Co. calendar. Note the calendar in the background to the right of the window.
This one always makes me think of my Uncle Larry. HE came home after he and my father had been shooting crows at the Monroe Reformatory dump. He came into his basement from his garage, hung his hunting coat on the hook and went upstairs. A few weeks later Aunt Helen noticed a horrible smell from the basement. Larry forgot to put the crows from his coat in the freezer to use for decoys next time out!! |
That setter sure brought back memories, Looks like Old Sam.

Dave, Back in the 80's I found a quail in my vest the same way as your aunt/uncle did!!!! Kinda smelled like dead night crawlers in my closet.......!!!
|
My dad's duck hunting buddy had an almost dead mallard crawl into the spare tire well of his Cadillac in January. Got pretty high by May. Very difficult to find the source.

bet that caddy smelled badly.....charlie
