Short 10 ga low pressure loads
I get frusted with the search engine here. Did a Google search on the above subject and got several relevent hiots, but they couldn't be located ( I think due to the Board changing. I have tried everything I can think of and no relevent hits. Search always just looks for something like gauge or low pressure and never seems to look for any complex occurances. Anyway, any suggestions?

What kind of short ten load do you need? Here is my 1.25 ounce duck load: http://parkerguns.org/forums/showthr...&highlight=Wsf I highly recommend it. -Victor |
Victor's duck load is excellent.
I 2nd the recommendation. |
I, as many, just use a mild 12ga load and sub in the 10ga wad and 20ga filler in the plastic wad. If the load has 9000psi or less in a 12ga it's going to have even less pressure in a 10. The chamber, being larger has more surface area for the pressure to work on so it's less. Good luck.

That same load CL listed in his post " pressure testing 19grs of Red Dot " in the 10ga, Alliant has pressure listed at 10,000 in a 12ga. That's a 3500psi drop from 12 to 10ga. Take or add a 1000psi for different primers and or wads and you still have 2500psi drop.

nothing beats a 19 grain of reddot and 1 1/8 ounce of shot in a 10 ga load....charlie
