Parker stock without inlet for safety device.
I bought a GH with a higher grade stock however it is not inletted for the safety. Was this ever an option from Parker? Also any recommendations for a smith me Cincinnati that could do the in letting?
Thanks, Scott |

Parker Bros. made guns from Quality VH to A1-Special to order with no safety --
Attachment 97609 Attachment 97610 Attachment 97611 While I've never been inside one to see how they were inletted, I'd guess Brian can tell us. |
Perhaps known as a "Live Pigeon Gun".

A gun with an unusual feature that should be left as original. Can you tell us more about this gun?

Here is my original post for the GH I'm referring to.

Scott, the GH in the linked picture seems to have a safety.

Scott attached are a couple of letters that denote the lack of a safety. This feature was not confined to 12 gauge guns either. I have a factory deleted VH 20 gauge with 32" barrels and have seen other small bores with this feature.

Thank you for your replies. Mea culpa on explaining the issue. This shotgun did not come with the internal safety parts so I ordered the parts from Larry Del Grego (great guy). When I tried to install them the stock was not cut out to accept the parts. I now need the stock inletted to put the safety in. Any recommendations for a smith/stock person near me.
I know Brian is booked the rest of the year for taking new work so just looking for other options. And I'm not opposed to shipping it either. Thanks, Scott |

I’m not sure who could do it. I also have a DHE 20 no safety but it appears without pulling the stock off that it may have had one at one time.
You can see the outline of a filler that has been engraved over. This was a 32” gun that has been sent back to Remington multiple times. Had thought about doing what you wish to do and install a safety but ruled that out now. Also thought about sleeving the barrels. ( per Remington codes on the barrels) Barrels cut down to 26” back bored for chokes. Absolutely stunning gun otherwise. |
That plug in the safety slot is a bit more visible than many, but that is how the "no safety" guns were done. If it had a safety from Parker Bros. the word SAFE would be engraved on the tang.
